Questions about oxygen concentrators
How does an oxygen concentrator work?
It draws in room air, separates out most of the nitrogen and delivers air concentrated in oxygen, for as long as it has power. Nidek rates its Nuvo Lite 5, Nuvo 10 and Nuvo Nano at 90% oxygen, with the tolerance and conditions given on each product page.
What is the difference between an oxygen concentrator and an oxygen tank?
A tank holds a fixed quantity of compressed oxygen and must be refilled or replaced once empty. A concentrator produces its oxygen from room air while it is plugged in, or, for the Nuvo Nano, on its battery: up to 4 hours at setting 2, according to Nidek.
